Communications Alliance has released a framework for business-to-business interactions between NBN Co and Retail Service Providers. Public comment is due by 3 September 2010.
28 July 2010: Broadcasting financial results for 2008-09
The commercial television sector reported $3,784.4 million in revenue in 2008-09, a nine per cent decrease from 2007-08. The commercial radio sector reported $1,039.4 million in revenue, a decrease of four per cent on 2007-08.
27 July 2010: Internet Industry Association Manifesto: Principles for a Digital Economy
The Internet Industry Association has released its manifesto on internet policy and regulation, with principles and recommendations to guide decision making.
20 July 2010: ACCC Draft final report on varying the DTCS declaration
The draft report covers variations to the Domestic Transmission Capacity Service (DTCS) Declaration designed to ensure that the DTCS remains technologically neutral.
16 July 2010: Australian Content Compliance Results 2009
The results show that all metropolitan and regional commercial television licensees exceeded the requirements of the Australian Content Standard and Children’s Television Standards in 2009.
9 July 2010: Federal Government Report: Outcomes of Consultations on Transparency and Accountability for ISP Filtering of RC Content
The report has led to a suite of measures to ensure that Refused Classification content is blocked by ISPs. Refused Classification content includes child abuse material, bestiality, extreme violence including rape, detailed instruction in crime or drug use, and incitement of a terrorist act.
5 July 2010: ACMA Annual Regulatory Plans 2010-11
The plans include information about changes to business regulation which occurred in the previous financial year as well as information about activities planned for the forthcoming financial year which could lead to changes in business regulation.
2 July 2010: Research into community attitudes towards mobile payment methods in Australia
The community research was conducted to enable the ACMA to anticipate potential problems with new forms of mobile phone payment and to allow it to consider the need for consumer protection in this area.
2 July 2010: NBN End Users Handbook
The Handbook includes information on satellite and wireless access, installation practices in the End User Premises, and information on testing and diagnostics of End User Premises cabling and connecting to an optical fibre distribution network.
1 July 2010: Issues Paper to guide the Review of the Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code
The Issues Paper, released by the Communications Alliance, proposes areas of focus for the Review of the Code.
30 June 2010: ACMA Report: IPTV and internet video delivery models: Video content services over IP in Australia
The report identifies that, while traditional content viewing services such as free-to-air and subscription broadcasting still form the overwhelming backbone for video and television content viewing in Australia, there has been a material increase in the number of alternative distribution methods – with several using the internet.
24 June 2010: Digital Dividend Green paper
The switch from analogue to digital television will result in the release of 126MHz of ultra-high frequency spectrum. This spectrum is suitable for wireless broadband, mobile television and 3G mobile technology.

The guide explains the first part of the new Australian Consumer Law which came into effect on 1 July 2010. The new laws apply to unfair terms in consumer contracts.
